meet Miriam
Miriam has always been inspired by creative endeavors. Interior design is the perfect balance of the artistic and the practical/logistical.
She has a passion for helping people realize their visions for the spaces in their lives. A self-taught designer with certification from the New York Institute of Art and Design, Miriam has grown her appreciation and skill for creative problem-solving while ensuring her client’s vision is fully realized. A nuanced play of pattern and texture coupled with the beauty of variety in materials and finishes, tailoring to each client's personality… what a joy to have the opportunity to personalize a space to reflect a client's unique expression!
Miriam’s design style can be described as modern with a personalized blend of aesthetics, influences from world travel, and design fundamentals with a draw toward balancing the calm neutrals with punctuations of color and statement pieces.
Miriam attributes her interest in interior design to being raised by an artist and a lawyer. Utilizing the creative/visual side as well as the logical/linear perspective allows Miriam to lean into all aspects of the work of interior design with confidence and decisiveness in the field. Miriam has a natural way of communicating with clients and vendors, a palpable warmth, and a drive to deliver. After living in New York, Washington DC, and Detroit, she now calls Nashville home. She looks forward to an opportunity to collaborate with you and to make your space one that sparks joy and inspires your everyday comforts, gatherings, and memorable moments.

Debarti Design is committed to making an impact outside of the homes and businesses we design. We are aware of the needs of our community members and the footprint we make on this planet. Supporting organizations that ensure formerly unhoused individuals feel at home and experience a beautiful space - a home that ensures they break the cycle of homelessness - is an effort close to our hearts. Also, supporting organizations that are working to restore and protect the environment is a priority to our small business as well.
